*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Under Direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Counselor (CC) will provide direct care and supervision for children, between the ages of 5-12, during Artletics summer day camp.
Counselors must be positive, proactive, and caring.
Workers must be attentive and enthusiastic with both campers and co-workers.
Past experience with children is required.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
1.
Ability to care for and manage children of diverse ages and backgrounds.
2.
Counselors will assist Camp Director with creating and organizing daily schedules.
This could include art, drama, games, gardening club, and sport activities.
3.
Counselor is responsible for implementing daily pre-planned schedule, curriculum, and activities.
4.
Provide enjoyable experience for all youth, including growth and development opportunities.
5.
Counselors will monitor campers at all times, follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, and report any incidents, such as behavioral problems or any accident to Camp Director and or RACC Executive Director.
6.
Attends staff meetings, trainings, and special events as outlined upon hire date.
7.
Maintains positive relations with youth, adults/guardians, and other staff members.
8.
Ability to communicate positively with members, participants, and other staff.
9.
Ability to clean and organize within the daily operations of Artletics Summer Camp.
10.
Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances, including strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
11.
Must be able to lift thirty-five pounds.
Will require bending, reaching, constant movement, etc.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
1.
Previous experience working with youth and adults required.
3.
Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: fine arts, songs/music, skits, sports, gardening, recreational games, etc…

Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Hours and Benefits:
This is a summer contract position from June 23 to August 18.
Camp hours are Monday – Thursday from 7 am to 5 pm.
Counselors will be scheduled hours in line with the staffing needs during camp operation.
Compensation is $15 per hour
