Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for an onsite Senior Systems Engineer! This position is located at AIS headquarters in Rome, NY.
In this role, you’ll play an integral role in the testing and system engineering of the SecureView® product.
How You’ll Succeed You’ll succeed by designing, executing, and writing formal test procedures/plans across functional and security requirements.
You’ll participate in system, exploratory, and complex ad-hoc testing while also tracking bugs, issues, and improvements found throughout the lifecycle.
You’ll develop complex software components from initial design through testing, deployment, and release.
Your additional responsibilities will include: Developing content for user manuals, training materials, proposals, test plans, and technical documentation Identifying, understanding, and providing creative solutions to advance software performance.
Evaluating tasks and deliverables for technical quality, ensuring solutions are engineered in a sensible and maintainable fashion Participating in design and architecture discussions Utilizing and further developing test automation frameworks Maintaining and implementing test infrastructure Auditing and verifying the work of others Who You Are You thrive at leading a small team of engineers by providing tasking, driving schedule, and accurately estimating the duration and level of effort required for tasking.

Your Expertise You have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline and 8 years’ experience in quality/test engineering, system engineering or networking installation and administration; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
You have 5 years of familiarity with Linux and/or Windows You have 5 years knowledge of networking appliances You have 2 years of understanding of industry standard tools You have the ability to obtain/retain a Top Secret security clearance You have the ability to travel less than 10%, as needed What Sets You Apart Previous experience with the SecureView product preferred Extremely strong analytical and troubleshooting skills IT infrastructure knowledge Networking knowledge & troubleshooting Penetration testing Test case management, design & execution Bug/issue tracking software (Jira) Version control software (git/bitbucket) Virtualization experience (VMWare, Xen) *Please note, position is contingent upon award selection (June 2024) * The Impact AIS is a leading cyber and information security company supporting mission critical operations across the DoD, intelligence community, commerce and beyond.
