Oneida Health Hospital is looking for a full-time Endoscopy Technician or LPN to assist with patient care tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse and providers.
The technician will assist with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in the Endoscopy Department and other areas of the hospital.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the digestive tract and respiratory disease processes and be able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
This position is a 10-hour Days Flex position, Monday through Friday.

What You’ll be Great At:
Setting up and cleaning procedure rooms according to established guidelines.
Preparing and maintaining supplies, equipment, and rooms for procedures as well as inspecting equipment for safety and cleanliness.
Demonstrating proper handling and use of various types and sizes of video endoscopes.
Demonstrating knowledge of infection prevention procedures at all times.
Assisting with procedures as directed.
Informing the RN of the equipment and accessories used during procedures to be documented in the medical record.
Collecting and labeling specimens.
Assisting with transporting patients, specimens, and supplies and participating in patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
Providing scheduled and non-scheduled services for the movement of patients to and from the Endoscopy/Urology department and nursing/clinical areas by ensuring optimal patient comfort and operational efficiency.
Preparing patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, appropriately positioning patients, and preparing testing sites as appropriate.

Your Essential Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Certifications:
BLS (Preferred)
SGNA GI Specialist Basic & Advanced Training (Preferred)
Licensure:
NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), (Preferred)
Experience:
GI experience or clinical procedural area: 1 year (Preferred)
Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant, CNA: 1 year (Preferred)
GI Technical Specialist (GTS) or Scrub Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
