This will be a hybrid role with in-office time in New Hartford, NY (preferred), Buffalo, NY or Woodbury, NY.
Essential Functions: Lead a team of Claims Specialists responsible for auto bodily injury claims.
Plan work and assign to all Claims Specialists.
Oversee and assume responsibility for all work performed by Claims Specialists, including quality of work and schedules; maintain strict follow-up on all active claims; review files, answer technical questions, discuss problems, check out errors and discrepancies and take appropriate remedial action.
Review investigations, related forms and reports; analyze and evaluate liability, special damages, defense possibilities, settlement values and coverage questions; set and adjust reserves; extend authorization to Claims Service Representatives and consult superior regarding claims exceeding his authority.
Oversee and handle suit files and claim matters of a more complex and technical nature.
Review law bulletins, court decisions and is required to have a broad understanding of the law and a basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terms.
Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2-3 years with adjusting work as well as supervisory responsibilities in auto bodily injury.
Preference for candidates with commercial auto experience.
Licensing as needed in required states.
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
