*Job Description: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)*
*Location: Utica, NY*
*Shift Schedule: Days 4x10 *
*Blended Rate: $3500/WK*
*Stipend: $1162/WK*
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and assess patients prior to surgery, ensuring their understanding of the procedure, risks, and obtaining informed consent.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
* Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia administration, and surgical site throughout the procedure, notifying the surgical team of any changes or concerns.
* Assist with positioning and draping the patient, ensuring sterile technique is maintained at all times.
* Prepare and handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment required for specific procedures.
* Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the surgical team.
* Document patient assessment findings, surgical interventions, and perioperative medication administration accurately and in a timely manner.
* Participate in the teaching, training, and supervision of less experienced staff and nursing students, fostering a positive learning environment.
* Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and sterile environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
* Continuously stay updated on advances in cardiovascular surgical techniques, evidence-based practices, and advancements in medical technology.
Requirements:
* Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
* Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiovascular surgical setting or related field.
* BLS and ACLS certifications.
