Job Summary
The Director is responsible for overseeing and supervising the daily operation of the Midstate EMS Program Agency serving Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Counties.
Coordinates activities and ensure completion of the NYS Department of Health contract deliverables.
Attend REMSCO, REMAC, and other regional or state meetings as directed by the REMSCO.
Directly reports to the New York State Department of Health Bureau of EMS and Trauma systems as well as the Midstate REMSCO.
Provide administrative support to the Midstate REMSCO and REMAC.
Provide administrative support to the EMS organizations as necessary to fulfill NYSDOH deliverables.
Have daily/periodic contact with fire departments, rescue squads, and ambulance agencies throughout the tri-county region.
Disseminate information and changes to EMS squads directly.
Willingness to work some evenings and weekends with travel within the tri-county region required.
Core Job Responsibilities
Supervises the Midstate EMS Clinical Coordinator.
Works to assist the Midstate REMSCO and REMAC with completing New York State deliverables.
Prepare quarterly report and completing voucher for payment concerning the Program Agency contract.
Plans and implements deliverable items approved by the NYS DOH Bureau of EMS for each contract period.
Prepare budgets and financial reports.
Assist Fire Departments and Ambulance services by providing updates from the Department of Health to include policy updates and regulation changes.
Prepare written performance evaluations for any and all office personnel as appropriate.
Handle daily routine and complex issues for all entities in a professional manner, and prepare memos, notes, letters, and reports as needed.
Work with the Department of Health Bureau of EMS to complete tasks and assist EMS Agencies with their needs.
Ability to manage website information and information technology.
Ability to work long hours to accommodate meetings at night.
Prepare and review forms, reports, schedules, recommendations, and other reports related to EMS.
Other duties as required assigned by the Midstate REMAC or Midstate REMSCO.
Education/Experience Requirements
Preferred:
New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
New York State Certified EMT
Preferred:
New York State Paramedic
AHA CPR Instructor, CLI or CIC certifications
Managerial experience to include EMS Supervisor
