Unit: Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrine, GI, Dermatology, General Medicine
Shift: 7a-7p or 7p-7a (Block Scheduling is never promised or guaranteed)
OT: After 48
RN Ratio: 1:6
Oncology Experience is Required.
Floating Required: Yes
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Unit Specifics:
Common Diagnosis - CA diagnosis, Oncology, Hematology, ESRD, Diabetes, GI, Abdominal Pain, Dermatology, General Medicine.
Specialty Equipment- IV pumps, NG tubes, Chest tubes, specialty beds (sand beds)
Required drips & Medications - Heparin, Lasix and chemo.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our medical/surgical team.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical/surgical unit.
This is a full-time position with various shifts available.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
- Monitor and record vital signs, administer medications, and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care techniques
- Assist with wound care, including dressing changes and suturing as needed
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Skills:
- Experience in pediatrics or a strong desire to work with children is preferred
- Proficient in providing high-quality patient care in a medical/surgical setting
- Knowledge of sonography techniques for diagnostic purposes is a plus
- Ability to accurately assess and interpret vital signs
- Experience working with children of all ages is highly desired
- Competent in administering injections and medications
- Familiarity with occupational health practices is beneficial
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations, such as in the ER
