We are currently seeking a full-time Development Assistant in our Office of Institutional Advancement.
The Development Assistant assists the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement with managing the College’s major gift campaigns.
They will provide support to the Institutional Advancement Office by participating in all fundraising activities including donor relations and special events.
The Development Assistant may work a flexible work schedule.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Responsible for prospect research;
Makes donor visits, presentations and solicitations;
Fosters engagement with the college community, alumni, donors, and supporters;
Prepares proposals, mailings, invitations, and sponsorship packets for donors, alumni and community members;
Assists in the development of marketing and communication materials related to fundraising, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts;
Organizes records by campaign and campaign division;
Maintains accurate donor databases and financial records with accurate and current information;
Develops databases and utilizes College software programs to execute campaign needs and accurately track donor and alumni records;
Assists supervisor on the implementation of goals and objectives;
Meets regularly with institutional advancement staff, board members, and committee members;
Accompanies institutional advancement staff (as needed) to gift solicitation meetings with current, potential and alumni donors;
Assists with creating original and written content for use in campaign appeals, proposals, donor stewardship, and email communications;
Manages, coordinates, and executes institutional advancement events;
Researches and utilizes new technology platforms to increase the communication with, and funds raised from donors, alumni and community members;
Contributes to the Foundation and Alumni web and social media presence, through the creation and generation of written content, and the tracking of social media conversations and messages;
Collaborates with marketing and communications team to ensure consistency in branding and messaging;
Other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement or Director of Development.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Self-starters, dependable, ability to problem-solve in both collaborative and individual settings, attention to detail, and strength in interpersonal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Must have a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
Ability to work at College affiliated office locations as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of successful fundraising experience, or progressive experience in communications, public relations, advertising, or related field
Experience with online fundraising and donor engagement
