One of the components-the Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)- stands as Colgates most definitive plan in 200 years for elevating the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the institution.
Accountabilities: Colgate University, is seeking an Assistant Director of Alumni Relations to create and implement programs and events that strengthen alumni engagement with the University.
The Assistant Director will be accountable for the creation and delivery of programs and events to strengthen alumni connection and engagement.
Accountable for achieving pre-determined engagement goals for Reunion.
Responsible for effective recruitment, management, training, and engagement of volunteers, particularly for Reunion and Regional Club Leaders.
Responsible for effective and independent management of multiple Reunion programs and logistics.
Responsible for supporting programming for all Reunion classes.
Accountable for effective coordination and support of Alumni Relations Signature Programs, which includes Reunion and Regional Programs.
Accountable for creative programming and management of Regional Club Leaders serving clubs around the world.
Lead the planning and execution of signature regional club programs, including Colgate Day.
Professional Experience/Qualifications A minimum of two years of professional experience in event planning, volunteer management, alumni relations and/or related fields Experience with or aptitude for independently overseeing and managing volunteer constituents Demonstrated experience in planning and executing events Must be able to work collegially and effectively with a diverse group of alumni, students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis Experience with or aptitude for measuring success and reporting on programs with quantitative and qualitative data Comfort with fundraising and fundraising adjacent activities Enthusiastic commitment to advancing the Universitys mission Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team Must be able to travel periodically and work evenings and weekends when needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with Google Suite Experience with relational databases/CRMs, especially Raisers Edge Experience in alumni relations, advancement, higher education or related experience fields Education A Bachelors degree or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are gained is required.
