Colgate University enjoys a strong tradition of philanthropy and engagement and is currently engaged in a historic comprehensive campaign with a goal of $1B.
To date, the Campaign for the Third Century has raised over $560M towards this goal.
The Office of Annual Giving helps alumni, families, students, and friends contribute directly to the Colgate experience through support of financial aid, student life initiatives, academic programs, research projects, the arts, athletics, and more.
The Annual Giving team is charged with boosting the alumni giving rate, meeting Colgate Fund goals ($8.
8M in FY23) and driving Presidents Circle membership including family and student membership.
They achieve this goal through marketing, volunteer engagement, outreach, and events.
Accountabilities: The Assistant /Associate Director of Annual Giving will serve as the primary point person for all annual giving data analytics and marketing project management, which include: conducting analysis on all annual giving initiatives providing data insights to inform future annual giving strategy primary annual giving administrator for email marketing platform, crowdfunding, and texting campaigns, working in close collaboration with advancement-wide platforms administrator annual giving liaison with Colgate's central Communications team to ensure marketing projects are completed on time and successfully, requiring a great level of detail and organization Professional Experience/Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess organizational savvy, an ability to establish and execute plans to meet measurable goals Experience motivating internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutual goals A minimum of one year experience in fundraising, sales, marketing or non-profit work is required The ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion The ability to use a computer and relevant software applications, such as email/Gmail; Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel; the Google Suite of software, including Google Docs and Google sheets; and a comfort level with database management are critical Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are critical Must possess strong judgment skills, and the ability to develop solutions expediently An ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education is essential Candidates must be capable of working collegially and effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors on a daily basis Ability to participate in occasional evening and weekend work to support Advancements and the Universitys events including blocks of time for major events, such as Reunion, Family Weekend, and Homecoming, and other event support as required Preferred Qualifications Experience in data analytics and/or project management Appointment at the Associate Director level requires three or more years of experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or non-profit work Education A Bachelors degree is required Other Information This position is hybrid (3 days on site, 2 days remote) Work Schedule: Weekdays with occasional weekends Job Open Date: 03/19/2024 Job Close Date: Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary EEO Statement It is the policy of Colgate University not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of their race, color, creed, religion, age, sex, pregnancy, national origin, marital status, disability, protected Veterans status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, being or having been victims of domestic violence or stalking, familial status, or any other categories covered by law.
