Description: Overview of the Role Through access to creative and design platforms, events, online engagement and original content, GPO’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator will leverage resources and delivery channels to help GPO’s brand thrive.
GPO’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a supportive position of the marketing department, built for the collective benefit and advancement of the credit union as a whole.
Requirements: Marketing and Communications Coordinator Responsibilities - Merchandise ordering and/or supplies.
- Help deliver marketing material in the community.
- Measure online member satisfaction and reviews.
- Collect and maintain a strong library of member stories and photos.
- Support and create internal and external branded pieces via Adobe Creative suite with the direction of GPO’s Marketing Design Manager.
- Coordinates all public relations communications including, but not limited to, the creation and distribution of press releases, development and placement of stories to improve GPO's brand and market share, maintenance of strong relationships with members of the press, and consistent execution of GPO's brand image and value proposition.
- Write corporate communication pieces delivered to employees, members or internal and external stakeholders (eblasts, staff Newsletter, other consistent communications).
- Maintain and create posts that are brand focused via online communities such as: GPO’s website blog, eblasts via Mailchimp, Social media channels- Hootsuite, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube & LinkedIn.
- Establish and report metrics on online community efforts and success rates.
- Track, identify and analyze trends and high performing posts to remain up to date on social media marketing trends and apply knowledge to leverage social media activities effectively.
- Create a monthly shared calendar and to provide a month-end report on results of efforts to be shared with management.
- Contribute and assist with monthly promotional incentives.
- Assist with setup, facilitation and completion of marketing and member events.

- Stay abreast of regulations and trends within the industry and ensure the credit union remains compliant.
- Hold yourself accountable for the promises you make and the actions you take.
- Complete training as assigned and continually search for opportunities to enhance one’s ability and knowledge.
- To maintain an in-depth understanding of the credit union’s products, service, policies and procedures-keeping in mind and understanding the credit union’s mission.
Marketing and Communications Coordinator Qualifications - Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- 2 year college degree in related field.
- 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience managing social media platforms for a brand or publication is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in a design related role with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn and are up-to-date on latest trends.
- Solid grammar, editing, and proofreading capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with analytics and making recommendations based on data.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Attention to detail is a must.
