Riverhawk Company designs and builds high performance driveshafts and other rotating equipment accessories for the Oil & Gas, the Petrochemical and the Power Generation Industries.
We support and work closely with major international organizations, such as GE, Siemens, Elliott, ExxonMobil, Valero and Dow Chemical just to name a few.
As a leader in engineering-driven manufacturing, Riverhawk is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its team.
This full-time position is based out of the New Hartford, NY office.
What you'll do:
Work closely with customers to determine their needs and specifications
Design custom solutions or choose and apply an existing product to meet customers' needs
Use the latest FEA software, in-house programs, and classical equations to analyze and optimize designs
Develop 3D CAD designs and 2D drawings for manufacturing
Collaborate with vendors, as well as the manufacturing and quality teams to support the production of the designs
Develop test equipment and procedures to validate designs
Perform or lead technicians in the completion of product validation testing
Develop documentation in the form of drawings and instruction manuals to assist the customer in safe and proper use of products
Provide technical support to customers and field service technicians for the life of the product
Travel to customer sites to coordinate design work, present proposals, and troubleshoot issues
What we need: Applicants should have the following skills and abilities.
Prior experience in a mechanical engineering design from a past job, co-op or internship
Minimum BSMET required, BSME preferred
Prior experience doing stress analysis and component design using carbon steels, alloy steels, tool steels, or precipitation hardened stainless steels
Design experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze stress and deflections in mechanical components and structures.
SolidWorks Simulation, Simulia, or Ansys preferred.
Prior experience in the turbomachinery/rotating machinery field preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An energetic and engaging personality
Ability to work independently and on a team
Ability to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice
Hydraulics and pneumatics experience preferred

Below is a general outline of our package.
Pay range - $58,000-70,000 annually (please note that this range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications)
