The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes in a LEAN environment.
This role requires an understanding of a wide variety of processes, the gathering of performance and material data, to analyze and implement for improved efficiency product flow and cost reductions.
In addition, evaluate quality escapes using various tools to identify the root causes and preventative actions, in conjunction with the Quality department.
The Manufacturing Engineer will have oversight responsibility of the New Product Development process along with the technical integrity of all engineering documentation.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: (Education and Training)
BS in Engineering or Technical discipline, MBA or equivalent preferred
Proven track record building teams
Direct experience in developing product and engineering strategic goals
Strong leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering, R&D, sales, operations and across business units
Demonstrated advanced management and engineering skills
Proven experience product and process research
Background in military service or outdoor/hunting activities preferred
Experience with Solidworks/Enterprise or equivalent software applications
Experience in plastic injection molding a plus
General Responsibilities:
Apply fundamental engineering concepts, practices and procedures to manufacturing processes for continuous improvement in efficiencies, ergonomics and safety.
Apply the same fundamentals for new products and projects
Develop and implement cost effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with customer requirements, product or process specifications, quality requirements and government standards, utilizing the controlled phase gate product development processes.
Serve as the Process Owner of the New Product Development process
Responsible for regulatory requirements pertaining to materials (Prop65, 3TG, RoHS etc.
) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Work with Plant Engineering to develop, implement and comply with OSHA compliant processes
Provide hands-on technical support and training for manufacturing processes and personnel
Coordinate efforts with the Quality and Production departments to meet customer requirements utilizing customer prints and specifications to ensure compliance and manufacturability.
Responsible for the control of engineering design documents and drawings, operating procedures and work instructions according to established quality management standards
Mentor and develop co-workers through collaboration
Work independently on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
This position is located in Lyons Falls, NY in beautiful Upstate NY between the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau.
The area boasts of plentiful activities for the outdoor enthusiast with many hiking trails, snowmobile and ATV trails as well as many historical sites to visit.
This role is on-site with hands on work and is not Remote eligible.
