Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing complex reconciliations, and contributing to various accounting activities.
Proficiency in MS Dynamics GP, a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and prior experience in a senior staff accounting role are essential for success in this position.
Salary Range - $55,000-$65,000 Key Responsibilities: · Oversee and assist in day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, fixed assets, cash, and general ledger activities.
· Process financial transactions accurately and promptly, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
· Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
· Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
· Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP.
· Ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
· Maintain a solid understanding of the organization's financial systems, particularly MS Dynamics GP.
· Provide assistance during audits by preparing and organizing pertinent financial documentation.
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience; experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
· Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and understanding of accounting concepts.
· Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics GP, and skilled in MS Excel.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a track record of accurate and meticulous work.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
· Strong ethical standards and a commitment to handling confidential financial information with discretion.
